upStream was founded by filmmaker Roger Turner Jr & actor Dylan J. Murphy while on the campus of West Virginia University.
As visual storytellers, upStream has produced over eight original pictures since Dylan and Roger departed the campus of WVU in 2016. Today, our vision remains the same. upStream is dedicated to the continued development and production of impactful stories that pay homage to the unheard voices around the world.
ROGER TURNER JR
FOUNDER / WRITER / DIRECTOR
Originally from Virginia, Roger offers the unique perspective of storytelling through the lens of a minority living among the masses. As a Journalism student in college, Roger served as a beat writer for the school's newspaper and would begin his career as a Production Assistant at Bluewater Studios in Clearwater, FL before putting his skills as a storyteller to work as a wedding videographer. All the while, Roger never stopped writing and producing films by way of upStream. He has served as writer, director, and editor on every upStream picture to date. In 2020, Roger moved to New York City, which is where he currently resides and has since received recognition as an award-winning director and screenwriter.
